Com-Pleks also known as Howard Forbes was born in Brooklyn, New York. Being a descendant of Jamaican ancestry, music has always played a major role in his life. Com-Pleks started his musical career in 1989 as he began performing throughout New York with various sound systems. His style and charisma as a rapper evolved to distinguish him from other mediocre rappers at an early age. By the time Com-Pleks relocated to California, he had developed a distinct sound that no other rapper could duplicate.
COM-PLEKS
Com-Pleks continued to perform with Clique International and Slim International (two of the Bay Areas' leading Reggae Dancehall/Hip Hop) sound systems. Com-Pleks became the head figure in a rap group called "Mis B' Havin" in 1991. His talent as a lyricist and his experience as a choreographer of video for cable television in New York City was clearly seen in his work. That year the group performed at the annual "Reggae In The Park" festival held in San Francisco at the Golden Gate Park. Com-Pleks was well received and branched out as an independent artist the following year.
Recently, Com-Pleks has been pursuing his musical endeavors in the studio. Produced by Rankin' Scroo, the two have metamorphosed Com-Pleks' sound to a diverse creative level. Com-Pleks appears on occasion with Rankin' Scroo & Ginger at Crucial Youth Productions showcases. He proves to have the driving deliverance of a true rap artist live as well as on his recording tracks.
